Again, you have full control on customization so you can choose whatever printing options and finishing you would like to apply.
Printing Options
There are several methods of printing. If you would like to know more about it, please move to our ‘About Printing’ page as we would continuously uploading and introducing some knowledge in printing and recent technology that applies to it.For now, or this section, we would give a brief description of them here. There may be some printing optional that is not included, as our owned factory might don’t have it. But we are still able to offer them. Although we are not a direct supplier, our business partner would be able to fill in the blank. As we work together to offer as many printing solutions as possible. Thus, your choice would not be limited by our website and contact us for more if you couldn’t find it on this page.
Offset printing
As the most common technique in printing, offset printing delivers excellent quality graphics and can accommodate a variety of specialty finishes — including laminating, varnishing, foil stamping, embossing, and metallic inks. It simply transfers an inked image from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to the printing surface.
Flexo printing/Flexography
Simple relief for the text, image, and logo. Have a cheap and cost-effective printing to your mailing and shipping cartons. It applied to many kinds of material as a substrate. Such as plastic, thin metal film, and paper.
UV printing
Superior printing quality with crisp colors and vivid images. Instant drying process by the UV lights to increase the production capability. The significant advantage of this type of printing is to enhance color stability and last for longer.
Screen printing
Excellent performance on the kraft paper boxes, blackboard paper boxes and custom paper boxes made of the specialty paper. It has similar properties in comparison to UV printing. However, the rate of the process is relatively slow.
Finishing
After your package has been printed out, printing finishing allows you to add extra value to your products. So here comes another thing for customization. Basically, finishing is an additional process. You are optionally adding laminating, varnishing, UV varnishing, Partially spot UV, perforation, embossing, variable data printing, and foil stamping to your products. These processes all make your package more luxury, valuable and attractive. It also offers extra protection when you apply certain finishing. The reason that we recommend you to apply finishing to the products is that it makes your package more unique. This results in a high potential value of the product packed inside, which is the purpose that we have been aiming for all the time.
We have a number of choices below for reference. They are almost all finishing in nowadays. Again, if you have any new ideas about the finishing, Luen Hua would be able to help you with a solution.
Laminating/lamination
The progress of lamination is adding a clear thin plastic film laminated. It dramatically improves durability and water-resistance to your packaging. It also enhances the tactile feel of the printed surface, lending it a smooth finish and a better touch.
Varnishing
The purpose of varnishing is to give a shiny and silk coating. It protects the color print and prevents the color ink from rubbing off. So the color won’t change or vary by time and last longer.
UV varnishing
UV varnishing is a special type of varnishing that needs to be mentioned separately. Basically, it’s a very strong version of varnishing. It varnishes the packaging surface with a transparent coating that feels very smooth and thick. That thick coating is a strong barrier. Plus, the coating dries immediately after processing through the ultra-violet light.
Partially spot UV
Same with UV varnishing. But just varnishing part of the surface after applying screen printing.
Perforation
Punching through the printed paper box surface and create a simple and perfect tear-away or a removed/removable section.
Embossing
Embossing a part of the paper box surface. Making a 3D view and touch of the box. Highlighting certain area and gives a better appearance.
Variable data
Add a promotional bar code, QR code, sequence of letters and numbers, name or address to your printed items. What’s more, as RFID technology applied, you may be able to add a microchip inside the paper box. This process is relatively expensive but really makes your package&product unique and different.
Foil stamping
Add a prestigious metallic finish to the packaging surface, giving a luxury quality feel. You have a wide range of colors to choose from. But the most common two are gold and silver stamping.
Die-cutting
This usually would be done in the printing process, to give a complex design of the paper box. Create a unique and one of kind die-cut paper box, or folding carton box with the die-cutting and flat shipped.
AQ coating
This is a water-based coating for resisting time. Some paper material would get yellowed and old. Thus, the color of the package would change. This is a coating that gives more protection and prevents it. It’s environmentally friendly, but higher cost. This finishing is not often applied but still available due to some special cases.
All the customizations and finishings mentioned above are common in printing. If there is any other you would like, please contact us directly for more information.
